Storytelling with Alice

A Computing Curriculum for IEFA + CS

An Overview of the Storytelling with Alice Curriculum

This middle school curriculum introduces students to developing and animating stories in Alice, a freely available, user-friendy, drag-and-drop programming environment. These lessons were developed to integrate Montana computer science (CS) content standards, Indian Education for All (IEFA) and other Montana content standards.

This curriculum is designed for grades 4-6. Lessons are centered around students hearing and being inspired by tribal stories (many from the Indian Reading Series), and then designing and animating related stories in Alice. This curriculum can be integrated into any teacher’s classroom.
